Photo Shooting with Joe and Pearl.

Just yesterday, I managed to do something from my Bucket List (It is a list of things that I want to do before I die.) It’s no surprise about what I did since my title says it all. I did a shoot, but it is not the usual grab-a-camera-smile-and-shoot type. It was a creative shoot with make-up, lighting, posing and it is almost similar to a real real shoot. Except we had more time to change outfits and make up, also to set up the places.

It is amazing to be able to work with Joe Low; Photographer and Pearl Tan extraODDinary; Make-up Artist because they are both very talented, awesome and totally fun to work with! This photoshoot was actually a collaboration with between the three of us; I did my nails for this shoot.
“ To be honest, I was so afraid I’ll screw this shoot because I’ve got to admit that I’m awkward in front of the cameras. Trust me, the pictures from my first shoot was kind of embarrassing because at that time, I really didn’t know how to smile or even which was my better angle. Then, I went on for another shoot, and I must have screwed my face so horribly that the photographer cropped my face out completely from the set of pictures. :( Or maybe, it was the idea. Nevertheless, my confidence completely dropped after that and I scrapped any dreams of future shoots.”
But I really loved the portraiture shots that Joe took (you can check them out in his Facebook page) and hence, when I had the opportunity to shoot with Joe and Pearl, I decided to give it another shot. And as it turns out, it was definitely a great experience for a newbie like me. It was a different ball game all together because we’re doing stuff that I haven’t tried before; knowing my angles, holding my pose, maintaining the expression and getting into the mood. It feels very professional but at the same time, we had tonnes of fun along the way.

I’m pretty excited to see the outcome of the shoot and how the pictures turn out to be. We did three different themes (I don’t know if they are called themes, but yea.) and I love the energy/expression/mood that I had for the first two. But I felt for the third one (full body shots type), I kinda lost my focus and concentration. (Or it could be the dress, because, I cannot pose in that dress. It makes me too self conscious, according to my friend, Alex.) So yea, we’ll see how that turns out to be.

Anyway, Joe will be post-processing them first and the pictures would be uploaded to his FB as well as Pearl’s and my blog too. Well, we did go through some of the pictures in Joe’s camera and they look fantabulous…. so, do look out for it!

IMG_2955editSmokey eyes + BW triangular nails for the last look. The eye make-up is too awesome, right? It looks way better on Joe’s camera, btw. :)

UPDATE: I have posted the pictures from the shoot up and they can be found on these pages; What I am, Who I am and Just Because I Can.

Behind the scenes: Aladdin the Musical.

Untitled

Have you heard of the latest musical in town? Oh, yes. Aladdin the Musical would be playing in Sunway Lagoon itself! I fondly remember growing up watching this Disney cartoon, so you can imagine my excitement when I found out that a musical adaption is being produced right here, in Malaysia. And last weekend, I managed to get behind the scenes of the musical itself, where the cast rehearsed a few scenes and also, toured around the venue of the musical.

IMG_9581If I’m not mistaken, she is the story teller/fairy. Got to love her skirt. :)

Based on the rehearsals, the musical seems very promising and you can be rest assured that the adaption will be an entertaining one. There were songs from Lady Gaga, Travie McCoy and even Katy Perry. An you won’t imagine who was singing these songs. The genie would be the one preforming these songs. Amazed, huh?

IMG_9571The booty-shaking Genie. Trust me, you won’t get enough of him.

Haha, meet the Genie. The Genie character is the most fun and lovable one of them all and he might just steal the spotlight from Aladdin and Princess Jasmine.

IMG_9583And this is Aladdin and Princess Jasmine.

This scene is when Aladdin brought her on the flying carpet, and of course, they sang ‘A Whole New World’, the popular song from Disney’s Aladdin.

We were told by the Mr Aaron himself, that 3D effects would be used during the musical, along with live animals on the stage as well. This was of course, by far the first time ever that anyone have attempted something like this. The animals were currently being trained by the Petting Zoo, Sunway Lagoon. I can’t wait to see the goats, chicken and ducks quacking away. Haha.

IMG_9592The stage currently being set up and if you observe the lights, it is painted with UV light to create a 3D effect.

Oh, I was amazed when I found out that the production team were from Malaysia! Don’t you feel proud already; Malaysia Boleh, baby! And the best thing was, that all the preparation for this musical started a mere 2 weeks ago. When I said all, I meant like from the casting and the rehearsal! Everything in two weeks!

* * * * * * * * * * *

Up, Up and Away! - Hot Air Balloon Fiesta 2011

It is not everyday that Malaysian get to see hot air balloon but at least we do get a chance to see it once a year. This time around, Mommy managed to convince Daddy to drive all the way to Putrajaya for the Hot Air Ballon Fiesta. So, I was at the fiesta! Haha, it is my first time seeing a hot air balloon live. I wouldn’t say it’s life changing, awestruck-ed moment… come on, it’s just balloons right? But honestly, it is something to be experienced at least once in my life.

ball Meow!

Copy of IMG_6286 So huge, right? And I thought those two circles look somewhat like the Master card logo.

Copy of IMG_6295 Haha, it got a little crowded after some time.

Copy of IMG_6305At first  I didn’t get why would anyone make a sad clown face as a balloon…. then…

Smiley  .. I realised that things are always not the way it seems to be. :)

Copy of IMG_6317I think this was my best shot for the day. I mean, it’s quite okay considering that I took it during cloudy skies.

Copy of IMG_6327 This was one of the unique balloons, but sadly they didn’t fly this balloon. It would have looked niceee.

Copy of IMG_6352 Somehow, I thought this picture looks like it was taken somewhere out of Malaysia. Don’t you think so? Must be the colours of this picture. Haha.

Copy of IMG_6407 And this was during the ‘Night Glow’ performance. There were music and the balloons were ‘flashing’ according to the music. Don’t get it? Watch the video. :)

All in all, I think it was pretty nice to get a chance to see the life size hot air balloons although I’ll admit that I wished the skies were clearer that day. I probably be able to take much nicer pictures! Haha, well I do need to practice more.

What I do at work.

Can you see those gazillion gray-scaled words in the picture above? Seems like a hell lot of words, right? Well, for the past few days, I typed more words than I ever had in one month. Because I am now the ‘typist’ in my engagement team, I had to extract minutes and sort, and boy, these public listed have tonnes of those meetings. And my internship experience wouldn’t be complete with a little run-around getting lunches. Haha, it’s not like I mind cause I would so rather get lunches than typing till I could fall asleep.

The Internship Experience @PwC

IMG_5578

Five days interns’ induction, four days involve training. PwC makes sure they send their interns out; ready, armed and set to battle.. err I mean face up to the challenges of an auditor’s life. :)

IMG_5583Meet Desmond Lee, the guy who I thought was so street smart until he got lost and brought us all the way to Bangsar, instead of 1Sentral.

IMG_5591My beloved friends; all the way from USM.

IMG_5593We are all still in the smiley mode, this was of course, before we were sent to the field.

IMG_5586 Group picture! Haha, the table is so messy. And can you spot another two Canon S90 on the table?

That’s me! In an anti static coat. I wore a bunny suit too, but didn’t get a picture of that. And that red tape was given to my laptop. Very tight security at my client’s place. The guards use metal detector on us.

IMG_5824 Gotta love this shot. :) The goodies from the Interns' Reception today. Fun! Got to meet Wei-Yuen and Pat, missed helping out at the ICAEW booth.

Cleo Cover Girl Search 2011; The Launch Party

After five days of working hard, I’ll honestly take any opportunity to get out and have fun; the let-down-my-hair-and-don’t-give-a-shit-about-the-world kind of fun. So, when I managed to get myself invited to the Cleo Cover Girl Search Launch Party, I thought, “Why not go?”.. I’m sure it’ll be fun. Except, fun would be too simple of a word to describe my day.

Because the dress code was smart casual and high heels was a must, so was a natural styled up hair, I decided to wear my new black sequinned dress from Kitschen with my favourite grey strappy heels.

MeRay Ban and my flawless skinned brother!

* * * * * * * *

Thanks to Daddy, we managed to arrive there rather early so I thought I could drop by for the CLEO Mini Road show, only to my horror, this is when my ‘nightmare’ begins. I asked Girl One in a CLEO T-shirt, where was the road show and she said, “There, there.. Over there.” Obviously, she was too busy to entertain me. So I thought she meant the Old Wing main entrance since I was in the New Wing main entrance and there was nothing there. I walked to the New Wing, saw nothing there, asked the Information Counter girl and she said Old Wing. At that point, I was like, “WTF” already because I walked from one end to another end only to get nothing. In my three inch, I walked back again to the Old Wing entrance and saw three already incredulously small MINI cooper with the CLEO magazine on its doors. So, yea. That was the road show. It was basically a waste of my time, also making me all hot and sweaty for the party too.

IMG_5661 The party at the DKNY Jeans outlet!

IMG_5662Basically, this is where the ‘party’ took place. Honestly, it’s not much of a party. It’s more like an audition for girls interested in being on the cover of CLEO.

IMG_5664 Where the make over took place. Some of the make up on the girls was rather plain, but I like mine. The lady did a great job on creating the smokey eyes for me.

IMG_5675After the make over and dressed in DKNY shirt and jeans, worn just for the photo shoot.

IMG_5687 Kah Wai’s photo shoot pictures! being chosen and printed out.

IMG_5688I.don’t.like.this.picture. I look hideous! If you don’t think so, blame it on my ever-self-conscious self. Somehow, in this picture, I felt like my smile doesn’t reach my eyes. Oh-so-fake smile. Btw, this was the picture chosen for the Cover Girl entry. Not that I expect to be short-listed anyway.

me me The other few shots taken, the up-close is just as ugly but the full body looks okay to me.

IMG_5711 Tee Hee! :) I look so much better in my own camwhored shots compared to the one the photographer took. Like wth.

That will be all, peeps! I am dead tired, I feel like as though my eye balls would roll out of its sockets anytime. Will update more soon, about working life. <3 Nights!

Photoshoot @Kitschen, One Utama

I had so much fun at the Kitschen’s photoshoot! I totally loved getting all dressed up; you know like hair, make-up, clothes, shoes and accessories. Only this time, someone else dolled me up. :D

IMG_5400 My face so damn serious. Haha, I guess that is my ‘stoned’ face. The make up did take some time.

pageLook who else is here! Mr. Cheok Chin Hong! He was like the only guy on the set.

IMG_5405 These are the other girls on the set, Maxine and Megan. They are really sweet sisters.

page1 The Preppy Nerd Dude meets the Punk Rock Chic! :)

page3(Left) If I didn’t have chubby cheeks, I would have looked like this.  (Right) The whole outfit!

IMG_5418 We couldn’t resist a group picture before we left!

The photoshoot can be tiring at times but it was so much fun! Really, I can’t describe it; I just know that I wish I could do it again. Thanks Kitschen! <3

[Edit at 11.00 PM] Another huge thanks to Randy Too for being the driver for that day! I’m so sorry I forgot to mention your name! :S

A Slide Down the Tallest Indoor Tube Slide!

Did you know that there was 5-storey high slide inside Empire Shopping Gallery? Well, I did hear something about a looooooong slide there but I can’t imagine how that was possible anyway. Until of course, when I got invited to a Social Media Gathering at LeX, 2nd floor of Empire Shopping Gallery.
It was a rather small gathering of bloggers, say around 20 plus of us all together. This gathering was basically organized by LeX (Lifestyle Electronics eXperiential Centre) in conjunction with their movie partnership with Disney’s Rapunzel: A Tangled Tale.
IMG_4502 Meet the emcee, Aunty Wong, she claimed to be legendary. You can see why in this picture right?
IMG_4495 We got to test their Game Pod stations, where they have a Sony PS 3 game in it and you get to play with it.
IMG_4516 This is the entrance to the world tallest indoor tube slide!
page1 Looks a bit scary already, no? When I first saw it, I was ‘what the heck’! Damn. I want to sit that slide!
At 50 metres long, 5 storeys high, the slide ride took only 10 seconds! Honestly, it wasn’t that scary at all. Obviously, you’re not going to slide down at the speed of a roller coaster. It was fast, but I would prefer it to be faster! Still, it was a different but nice experience. You guys should totally try it!
IMG_4519 It’s RM 12, per ride. Tad pricy for just a slide down but it is only because the cost of bringing the slide in and installing was a whooping RM 3 million!
Anyway, there was a few competitions on that day too; the LeX slide challenge and the Longest ‘Rapunzel’ Hair Challenge. We had to form a team of 5 for the slide challenge and we were each required to slide down twice in the fastest time. My team (Team Utopia) consists of myself, Cheok, Randy, Janise and Naomi. We were all petite sized except for Cheok and unbelievably, we won! We completed it in 4 minutes 18 seconds!
IMG_4512 We each won RM 100 but it wasn’t easy climbing up 5 storeys twice! I almost died on the way up.
IMG_4533
Oh, you guys want to hear an all time EPIC FAILED story? Remember I mentioned that there was another competition about the longest Rapunzel hair challenge? The mechanics of this game is that the person with the longest real or fake hair will win an iPod Shuffle. I arrived there early and was told that even ‘rafia’ strings would be enough. So I went on to buy two extremely long rolls of those strings. But guess what, I didn’t win it in the end because I didn’t went in front within 10 seconds. =.= Major epic failed!
IMG_4521 But I still got two tickets to watch Rapunzel for my effort! Whoopie! Hmm. But I already got tickets to watch the premiere of the movie on November 24.
IMG_4515 Camwhore shot with Janise. She is so sweet!
IMG_4514
Group shot with no one looking at my Cammy. :( Everyone else was too busy looking at those huge DSLRs.

Oh, before I end this post, I’ve got some random shots to show you.

Creme Brule flavoured coffee. Too sweet!

That’s all for now, folks. Got to study for my finals and mock!
