2010’s Christmas Week!

Christmas is finally here! I know I’m a bit late in getting into the Christmasy celebration mood. Haha, well I admit, it’s been a rather hectic week for us all too, right? I mean, there are good food, awesome company, gifts and more good food and more …. well, you get the idea. :)

Gu Yue Tien, Chulan Square

IMG_5445

Daddy brought the family to this Chinese restaurant to celebrate the Winter Solstice festival. Basically, he decided to come after reading a food review in The Star newspaper. Apparently, they serve really rare, good Hong Kong delicacies. (And also, because there is a All You Can Eat promotion going on now.)

IMG_5453 Delicacies like what, you ask? Guess what is dish is this.

itisducktongues!

Like OMG right?! There is even a soft bone in the middle!

IMG_5457 Grilled squids! This is tasty, must try if you’re there.

IMG_5460 Unagi rolls! This reminds me of something rather Vietnamese. Delicious, another must try.

IMG_5461 This is Fried Oyster and it doesn’t taste as good as it looks. The fritter batter was too thick and the oyster didn’t even taste like an oyster.

A word of advice, don’t eat their fried stuff and oh, the Shangai Siew Long Bao too. Overall, the food is just so-so. If I had to pick between a roadside stall to this restaurant, I might consider the stall actually. I feel so mean. LOL.

IMG_5430 Well, I don’t look mean here. :)

The Christmas Turkey Lunch!

“Another meaning for the word Jakun in the classic Malay is a derogatory term for a person who doesn't know something common. – Wikipedia

Call me a ‘jakun’ but I have never seen a whole roasted turkey in my whole entire life before. But I have eaten one before, so actually I’m not that bad actually. So, I was kind of excited when my uncle and aunt told me that this year, they will be making a roasted turkey for their Christmas lunch!

IMG_5492 Grilled tomatoes, garlic and onions! And no, the turkey is not underneath that foil.

IMG_5494 The 4 hours long stuffed roasted turkey is here!

IMG_5500Ta-da! Looks like a huge bird to me! The butt is covered with a lemon to prevent the pork belly and chestnut fillings from spilling out. And there is bacon on the skin of the turkey!

IMG_5497 Mumsy with the baked potatoes and Mr. 5.5 kg turkey. Aunt Tracy ready to ‘murder’ the turkey. Muahaha.

page We look so happy here, it feels like a crime to smile. Hahaa.

Boxing Day Date with J.

Uh-huh. I finally managed to meet up with my beloved, Julia on Dec 26. I haven’t seen her for months. Oh, god. I do miss high school when we could see each other every other day. Since I’ve got free passes to watch Gulliver’s Travel, I asked her out and surprise surprise, her schedule was free. You must understand that J is a very busy woman. HAHAHA. Which is quite true actually.

So, let me rate the movie. Out of 10, I give it 6 only. Honestly, the movie didn’t really emphasize much on Jack Black’s natural humour. Basically, the script and the storyline is tad boring although they tried to inject humour into it. But somehow, it doesn’t really work.

See the top right picture? It was taken in the Kitschen changing room where I spend gazillion hours buying dresses and I just left J sitting outside waiting for me to get-it-done-and-over-with-already. Luckily, her knight in shining armour aka Daryl came and rescued her from her shopping-crazy-best-friend which is me. And that is Daryl, in the pink Polo shirt.

Meet my new love!

IMG_5467 Sticky Candies = FTW, especially the lemon ones. :D I want more.

A huge thanks to my friend who got it for me.

Photoshoot @Kitschen, One Utama

I had so much fun at the Kitschen’s photoshoot! I totally loved getting all dressed up; you know like hair, make-up, clothes, shoes and accessories. Only this time, someone else dolled me up. :D

IMG_5400 My face so damn serious. Haha, I guess that is my ‘stoned’ face. The make up did take some time.

pageLook who else is here! Mr. Cheok Chin Hong! He was like the only guy on the set.

IMG_5405 These are the other girls on the set, Maxine and Megan. They are really sweet sisters.

IMG_5418 We couldn’t resist a group picture before we left!

The photoshoot can be tiring at times but it was so much fun! Really, I can’t describe it; I just know that I wish I could do it again. Thanks Kitschen! <3

[Edit at 11.00 PM] Another huge thanks to Randy Too for being the driver for that day! I’m so sorry I forgot to mention your name! :S

Craving for “Chu Pau Pau” from Ninja Joe

I’m so addicted to saying ‘chu pau pau’ really quickly. Why? Try saying it really fast; it sounds oh-so-cute. It never fails to give me a good laugh. Anyway, what is ‘chu pau pau’? It’s actually something like pork burgers in Mandarin but it’s an improvised version of the original, ‘chu par pau’ - (Pork Chop Burgers).

IMG_4712 This is where you can get those awesome pork burgers I’m craving for now! It’s at Ninja Joe, Sunway Pyramid or in Tropicana City Mall.

It was my first time there as they recently opened in Sunway and Pyramid is only about 5 minutes walk now because of the recently built Canopy Walkway. Awesome! Sunway University students now have easier access to good food and shopping time!

IMG_4702I ate the BIG BOSS! It’s RM 10.50 with bacon and cheese. Sadly, it’s not as big as I expected.

IMG_4707  This taste like heaven. Seriously. It’s so juicy and the taste just come bursting out. Imagine eating a juicy, well marinated pork patty with cheesy cheddar cheese and ‘bouncy’ fried egg topped with bacon! OMG. It’s so so good.

Can someone be nice enough to get me a Big Boss now? :) I shall declare the Big Boss as my feel good food from now onwards!

Off to Bali!

Hi, loves. I have decided to do a short post before leaving for Bali simply because I haven’t been able to blog as often as I wished. My schedule these days are pretty hectic, with events and activities back-to-back. As much as I enjoyed having my calendar filled, I just don’t have the time to blog. It’s pretty hard on me as I do look forward to blogging. I guess that is one of my vices. :)

Anyway, I’ll off to Bali tomorrow morning around 10ish. A not-so-early flight but guess what, I’ll have to be at the airport at least two hours earlier. Sighs, in the end I have set my alarm to 6 am.  Nevertheless, I’m already on the holiday mood!

dreamland-beach-bali Wow! What a breath-taking sight! Though I don’t think I’m coming to this beach. I just Googled Bali and this came up.

Everyone knows that Bali is famous for its beaches but my parents planned the trip in a way that we won’t actually get to laze around the beach. Well, logically thinking if I wanted to laze around the beach I would go to places like Redang, Pangkor and all. So instead, they got this tight, packed with visits schedule planned out. I’m looking at their itinerary and I see places like QWK Cultural Park, Sukawati, Uluwatu Temple…. and the list goes on.

Haha, I think I’m really excited to visit Bali now. I mean I have heard and read so much about it and now I’m finally going there! Can’t wait, can’t wait! Just thinking about all those amazing pictures opportunities I’ll have there is already making me go, “CAN I TAKE THE FIRST FLIGHT TO BALI NOW?!” :D

“ Hooray! Hooray! It's A Holi-Holiday,
What a world of fun for everyone, holi-holiday,
  Hooray! Hooray! It's A Holi-Holiday,
Sing a summer song, skip along, holi-holiday,
  It's a holi-holiday.”

Life After Finals; Freedom!

Oh, hell yes! I’m done with my Assurance paper and I passed! Isn’t that an awesome or what? :) Now that I’m done with my exams for this year, I deserve a break. It’ll be a short, sweet, jam-packed break for me. I only have this December to rest, recuperate from all those late night studying I’ve been doing for the past few weeks. Uh-huh. That means I have to make the most of December and I’ve been able to do so far. *grins*

4th December 2010

IMG_4728 Don’t these earrings look so edible?!

Right after my Assurance final, I went to Curve but there was a confusion and I ended up alone there for a few hours before my dad came. But since I’m already there, why not do some window-shopping? It is the Year End Sale now. :) There are discounts everywhere! Including The Face Shop where I bought my nail supplements; white is the nutrition one and the pinkish is to strengthen my nails. And oh, those earrings; I got them for a steal! It’s like 10 ringgit for 3.

5th December 2010

For a moment, I couldn’t recalled what I did on the fifth. Then, I realised that I was home all day. =.= Doing what? Helping my parents with some accounts stuff. And the best part of the day? My dinner. Subway! Italian BMT all the way!

IMG_4721

6th December 2010

I feel super bad. Because there was a meeting for the ICAEW Christmas Masquerade Party event, but I couldn’t make it then. Sighs. No transport. I know I can already drive but my parents won’t allow me to drive alone yet. My mom gets nightmare just thinking about the idea of me driving her. Hahaa, you must think I’m a terrible driver. So, anyway I managed some shopping time on sixth because I so need working shoes.

IMG_4730 Ta-da! Meet my working shoes. :D

Nah, I wished I could wear that to work, but it’s not my working shoes. It’s just a shoes that I wanted to have so badly after trying it on. The patterns is goddamn-WOW. And I did manage to buy my working shoes in a deep Midnight Blue color. God, the color is so gorgeous. Mom wanted me to get it in black to play safe but I was like black is boring.

6th December 2010

Mostly, I stayed in but it was such a beautiful day. It was a cloudy morning and you could feel the breeze if you just stood in the middle of the road with arms spread out, just like in Titanic. Hahaha. Had dim sum for breakfast, took only one picture because I got to hungry after that. *sheepish smile*

IMG_4723

After that, I basically came home and started cleaning up my room because it is usually very messy before any exams. Took me about an hour plus. Then, it was manicure time!

IMG_4731 Baby blue and eye-popping yellow!

What an odd combination, right? But hey, I love both the colors although the blue looks a bit streaky. Attempted the French mani technique and it seems like I have improved!

Okay loves, that would be all for now. I’ve got to go to work now!
