First of all, I would like to wish you a very Happy Valentine’s Day! For those who are single, well, it’s still a Valentine’s day to celebrate it with your friends and family. :) Doesn’t necessary have to be with your significant other. Heh.
I did this manicure in a rush simply because I was suddenly inspired to do a Valentine themed nail. Hence, I had to get it done and up on the blog before February 14 ends! Haha. As you can see, the nail on my index finger is the most perfect one, the rest is just sort of “ugh-ley”. Somehow, after doing the first nail, I kinda screwed up my coordination. Haha.
One thing I realised while doing these nail arts, are that you really have to be consistent. It’ll definitely help if you have steady hands, if not, you’ll get jagged lines. To be honest, my hands still tremble and shake when I’m doing these nail arts, I obviously am too nervous about screwing the nail art. Haha.
Here is closer look at the best two nails. The heart shapes are actually pretty simple to do, I only used dotting tool. You just need to 'stroke’ a fat line using the tool, and the doing the same on the opposite side of the nail. The polish I used this time are Nature's Republic RD501 (red) and The Face Shop's BR801 (nude).
Do you still remember the Golden Black Half Moon nail art that I did recently? (Which explains why my nails have already grown. Heh.) I wanted to try stamping over the black nail, especially with golden polish because I wasn’t sure whether the gold colour would turn up nicely. I am surprised it looks not half bad.
I wanted to show as though the butterflies are in a motion, hence the dotted lines. Do it look like it? :) I used the Konad’s M36 stamping plate for this with the polish from Nature’s Republic YL503 (Gold). Also, to be frank I didn’t really liked the pictures for this nail art because I chose to shoot it outside under harsh sunlight. Hence, most were slightly exposed and the colours were adjusted. And, I realised that the sun caused my nails to be reflective which makes it harder to see the patterns on my nails. So, please bear with me this time, I’m damn sure I won’t make the same mistakes twice. Heh.
Actually the half moon manicure was a nail trend several years ago, 2009 to be exact. But at that time, I was still in high school, a place where anything fancy was basically disallowed. Years later, I have came to discover this half moon manicure and I know I had to at least try it! Again, it is one of the simple nail art which anyone could attempt.
To get the half moon shape, I used reinforcement stickers! That is one of nail art tools that I swear by. Actually it isn’t even a nail art tool, it is stationaries! But it’s so cheap and versatile, and you can get it anywhere.
On my thumb, however, I did only painted the tip of my nail with the black nail polish from Etude House; WH706. My friend, Crys said she preferred the black tip over the half moon. Which one do you like better? :)

This Minnie Mouse nail art was actually the nail art I did for Chinese New Year last few weeks ago. I wanted to paint my nails red but then I couldn’t think of any design that would suit the Chinese celebration. So, I decided to do a Minnie Mouse, because it was easy and super quick to do. :)
For this nail art, you’ll just need dotting tool and reinforcement rings (I swear by this ;D). Of course, you need to have a red, black and white nail polish. I used Etude House; WH706 (black), Nature's Republic; RD502 (red) and The Face Shop; WH002 (white).
The signature black mouse shape on my ring fingernail was slightly deformed because I didn’t know what to use to dot it. I don’t actually have a dotting tool that huge, but I heard that you could use the back of any make up brushes.

Hola! A very Happy New Year to the person reading this. ;) Thought I’ll kick start the new year with a post on my latest water marbling attempt. I decided to give it a go again, after the last successful water marbling attempt, with the latest polishes from Nature’s Republic. This was because they were new, and while they were still watery, it would be easier for the polishes to spread on the water.
If your polishes spread out like this, it means you have been successful in step one of water marbling.
Using a toothpick, you should lightly drag it across the surface of the polishes. This was the pattern I randomly created, I have to admit, it’s not the best looking one. Haha. Like I said, it was random. That is the beauty of water marbling. No two nails would look same.
Ta-da! Just dip over your nail over the design you created, and you’re done! As you can see, I have cello tape around my nail. It is neater (and easier) than having to remove the excess polishes that sticks to your finger. Without the tape, it can get pretty messy and not to mention, troublesome.
Can you spot the odd one out? My index finger is well, sort of ruined. It was the first nail, so I guess I haven’t gotten a hang of it. I have attached a few more pictures, so do enjoy. :)
By the way, the polishes used in this post are Nature’s Republic YL503 (Gold) and RD502 (Red).

Merry Christmas and Happy Boxing Day! I hope you’re enjoying your last week of 2011; I’m not sure if I can say the same for myself. Somehow, these days, I feel like I lost interest in mostly everything, except reading of course. I’ve been reading, finishing at least one book a day. Now, I wished I hauled more books from the Big Bad Wolf Sale. So anyway, I have one more nail polish to swatch and I decided to do it today, seeing how I ran out of creative juices for nail art ideas.
Review: This polish from Nature Republic is a gold coloured one, and the thing about metallic colours, is that the streaks are pretty much obvious. The same goes for this polish, it was streaky and even the top coat didn’t manage to smoothen it out. So, you can say that I’m not all for this polish (as compared to the last two red polishes). But it is easy to apply; the formula wasn’t too thick. I have two coats of it, and you can put on an extra coat if you like a better coverage.
These days, even taking pictures of my nails is becoming a drag for me. I wondered where have my inspiration went to. I have to admit, I am going through a rather tough phase of my life. But in time, I’m sure my inspiration will be back. I hope you’ll find the pictures in today’s post okay. If you thought otherwise, do drop me a comment. I know I’ll really appreciate the feedback.
It has been some time since I did a nail art, but I was pretty inspired by CutePolish's Keroppi nails, (she made it seem pretty easy to do it), so ta-da, here is my nail art. I have to admit that this was the first time I used a brush and my dotting tool for a cartoon inspired nail art, so keep your expectations lower. ;)
At this point, if you don’t know who or what Keroppi looks like, you could be thinking that this is kind of cute. Also, you don’t understand why are there stripes of red on my white tipped nails.

And now, you get to see a picture of Keroppi! Some of you might be thinking, “Whud, it doesn’t even look similar to the cartoon.” I have to agree, because I wrongly estimated the size of the white dot using my dotting tool. Essentially, it has all the colours but the eyes. T.T
So, honestly, what do you guys think of the nail art this time? :) And if you are interested in doing this nail art, I’ll show you the polishes that you would need.

Here are the tools I used! I have yet to buy nail art brushes (although I have found the perfect one, I was stupid enough not to buy it at that point of time), so I made my own nail brush. The brush you see here is from an old topcoat bottle, I trimmed it till it was really thin. And the wooden sticks, is obviously my dotting tool.
Confession: I am absolutely in love with red. Not that it would come as a surprise, seeing how my last post was also a swatch of a red polish. Heh.
Review: Compared with the last post, this polish is of a brighter shade. Despite that, the polish didn’t come across as cheaply looking when applied. (This is the reason why I never liked buying red polishes, that they would appear.) Consistent with the RD501, the polish was rich and only requires two coats for a even coverage. Again, I am impressed with the polish.
And here is one last picture! Of my bright red lips and my nails. Heh. But I dared not touch my lips, for fear it’ll smudge my lipstick. I wouldn’t have worn these bright reds if it wasn’t for a funky party that I was attending. I went there dressed almost like a guy, with lipstick. Haha,
I have always wanted a red polish, seeing how I absolutely love the colour. But I have never been able to find one in the right shade; some of them were just too bright and … just doesn’t suit me. That was till I tried on Nature Republic’s one, I fell in love right away! :) You’ll find that the colour is not too bright, but then, the colour varies when it is indoor and under the sunlight. Actually, the colour is almost similar to crimson.
Review: To be honest, I have got nothing much to say about the polish except that the colour is fantastic. Also, one coat of the polish was sufficient (it is very pigmented) but in the pictures, I have two coats on. When you remove this polish, you will find that it will leave your nails in a bit of pink.
