Beauty : Here’s The Body Sparkling Mist that Keeps You Fresh

In the last year, it has been quite a exciting year for Althea especially so if you’ve been following their exclusive releases where they launched quite a range of products. Here are some of them which I wrote reviews on, feel free to read through them as the review would allow you to understand better about their products as well as my thoughts on using them.

This time around, Althea released yet another product but it’s a special one as it’s their first ever collaboration with a celebrity from Indonesia. Meet Stay Fresh Body Sparkling Mist by Titi Kamal and Althea. Titi Kamal is an Indonesian actress and singer who is uber stylish and has a knack for fashion and style. She’s most recognized by the luxuriously long black hair, which she has maintained for 10 years as it’s stipulated in her contract  to maintain her iconic look. No wonder, she’s been invited to collaborate with Althea on a product which embodies her elegance and of course, her essence. No pun intended here!

What is it?

As the name suggests, this product is a spray-on body mist which has fruity and floral notes with its ingredients being derived from Damask rose water, Orange flower extract and Elder flower extract. The rose water helps to keep the skin hydrated and gives a gentle fragrance. Meanwhile, the orange flower extract refreshes the senses, giving it that tangy smell. The last key ingredient is the elder flower extract cools and soothes the skin with hints of feminine scent. It’s suitable for all skin types and comes in a size of 100ml.

How to use?

Super easy! Just spray on your body. Well, that is true but it’s best to spray after you shower and before you ideally leave the house because you’ll feel and smell amazing too! As the product is portably sized, you can bring it along with you to give yourself a quick refresher of scent. <3

Thoughts

I love how feminine the product was designed, in a shade of colour that obviously would appeal to the ladies alike. As with most of Althea’s product, this one was also sealed with a sticker which came in handy to obviously prevent leakages. After the first usage, you’ll need to remove the sticker for your ease of convenience. But rest assured as the cap seals quite tightly on its own as well.

In terms of the scent, I’m actually a person who is quite fussy with scents that can get too overwhelming so I found this to be mild, gentle and really refreshing. I love how the it starts out with a whiff of significant floral notes and mellowed down to a base note of a mild fruity scent. It’s a very easy-going scent and this is coming from someone who doesn’t use body mist. Even perfumes are a rarity, I only use one type which is the one with baby powder scent!

Where to buy?

You can get it directly from the Althea’s site and I have included the link here for your ease of Stay Fresh Sparkling Mist (Singapore) | S$ 11.60  or  Stay Fresh Sparkling Mist (Malaysia) | RM35.00.

Beauty: How I got addicted to Althea’s Milk Peel Cream Mask

When we talk about peel cream, it’s one of those products that I feel is most often overlooked or not considered in many beauty regimes mainly because there is a lack of understanding over what it actually does for your skin. Face peels can actually help with a plethora of problems, from pigmentation to scarring, hydration to acne, skin texture to fine lines and wrinkles. However, each different peels products have different types and it’s worth noting that they are not universally the same.

Essentially, all face peels remove a top layer of skin to exfoliate and speed up your cell turnover, but some remove more than others, depending on the type of face peel you decide to try. All face peels involve applying a chemical or natural solution to your face to expedite the exfoliation process. After doing some reading about it, I realised it’s worth trying this such product out.

And thankfully for us, Althea’s production house have been working tirelessly churning products to complete their range of products and one of their latest release happen to be the peel cream. Read more to find out what my thoughts are, as I’m sure you’re wondering how it turned out to be.

What is it?

As the name suggests, this product is what it is known as, which is a peel cream mask. This product helps to removes dead skin cells, clogged sebum and impurities from the air without irritating the skin. In addition to that, it also helps to moisturize and refresh your skin with casein, a type of protein which is packed with vitamins for a healthy complexion.

The key ingredients of this product are AHA, BHA and milk. As I read the product write-up, I found out that each of these ingredients have a specific purpose. Where AHA helps to remove dead skin cells on the surface of the skin, the BHA on the other hand, removes impurities and de-clogs the pores and the last key ingredient is milk which moisturizes and refreshes the skin.

With daily usage, this gentle peeling mask gives your skin smoothness and clarity with its self-bubbling formula and double exfoliating effect that smoothens out roughness. Pores are also minimize by removing impurities from them. Upon dispensing from the bottle, you’ll find a soft clay which ends up to become a whipped cream bubble texture.  What happened here is that the creamy clay texture bubbles into a rich lather to deep cleanse the pores and remove dead skin cells.

How to use?

It’s super easy to use this! The first step requires you to dampen the skin. With a wet canvas to start out with, it’ll be easier to apply an even layer onto the skin, massaging till a rich lather forms. Then, you’ll need to leave on for 30-60 seconds before rinsing away with warm water. That is pretty much it! All in all, it would take less than 2 mins and a maximum of 3 minutes tops. Super simple and easy to include one’s beauty regime.

Thoughts

Product itself is quite thick and creamy, I’d imagine it to be harder to apply without first damping your face. The water helps “melt” away the creamy texture and turn the application of the mask into a smoother one. It’s easier to spread evenly then. As you leave the mask on for approximately 30 seconds, that is when the magic *poof* happens. The layer of mask starts to foam up with uncountable amount of tiny bubbles forming all over. You can actually feel it, the sensation of that happening is actually rather interesting.

But the best part had to be when you’re removing it. Because the layer of air bubbles formed from the mask, it actually makes it rather rich and luxurious to wash the cream mask away. It’s also very easy to remove the mask.
