<3 Bennett.

DSCN90140

Hey world, meet Bennett.

He (yes, it’s a he; I forgot to give him his pants.) My loyal ‘student’ who listens to me when I ‘teach’ him about the Malaysian’s History. He learned about Gerakan Nasionalisme today. Hahaha.

Though, I do wish to get some response from him. He’s so static.

SPM; At its worst.

Jerk. He’s a god damn bloody egoistic jerk.

The single word that screaming through my head. I had not meant to begin like this but hey, why not exploit this powerful hatred feeling?

DSCN9005 The countdown began about centuries ago. Here’s my version.

Anyway, you would have noticed my unannounced hiatus yet again, but I really shouldn’t be here at all considering SPM is round the corner. And it is. It’s not just a convenient idiom I’d like to include here.

The looming date of November 18 is itself a threat to me and I believe many other SPM-ers 2009 alike. Let’s just say that it’s bringing out the worst in me and I am definitely directly affected by it. I’m trying my best to not sound like I’m whining but heck, at times like this; I don’t give a damn.

It (meaning SPM) is screwing my sleep life, not that I have much of a ‘sleep’ life. Sleeping is a torture because not only it means that the day has ended but it is another day closer to SPM. I also find myself screwing up my sleep life by by by …. only god knows whatever I do.

I will myself to go to sleep with the hope I’ll be able to have that ‘perfect’ dream I had always wanted to have. And out of the 1415432726 nights of sleep, I have had that dream like a percentage of 0.00000189 only. My sleep life is pathetic.

I was delusional, a few days ago. I no longer lived on Earth, instead I was on Doodle Land. In Doodle Land, it’ll get dark at 9.00 pm and at 12.00 am of Real World, it’ll only be 7.00 pm in Doodle Land and and ….. Never mind, you get the idea. (In case you didn’t, I changed the time of my clocks and I refused to know what the time really is.)

Finally, waking up is the worst of it all. I don’t wish to elaborate on this. And yes if you are wondering, I am declaring my own holidays; in simpler term – I am skipping school but for a noble cause, to get that damn result I am expected of.

And you give me this feeling,

It’s like no other feeling.

shh, secret song.

Oh damn, I can’t stop thinking about Martin Johnson and Paul Freeman.

Copy of DSCN8649 Wouldn’t you be swooning over him too?

Gosh, this must the after-party effects of being in such close proximity with Martin. My first Hennessy Artistry experience at Club Quattro beats all the other concerts I’ve ever been to. All day I’ve been thinking how surreal Friday night was; being able to see, hear and touch Boys Like Girls in person. I wasn’t able to make it for MTV World Stage but I bet this was even better than MTV Worldstage.

Copy of DSCN8599Meet Paul Freeman, he’s pretty new in the music scene.

And undeniably hot. It’s rather sad though that I didn’t know any of his songs. I should try to listen to some of his songs. But he does have some really awesome vocals.

It wouldn’t have been perfect if I got a pic of Martin orPaul with me.

I’ll tell you what; one day I’ll fly to US to catch Boys Like Girls in person and that day will arrive soon enough.

Oh, at least I’ve got a little something from Boys Like Girls to faintly remind me that the Hennessy Artistry wasn’t a dream. It was real.

Copy of DSCN8687

Martin Johnson’s guitar pick and one of John Keefe’s drumstick.

Guess I’ll just have to deal with this.

Anyway, look out for the full account of the Hennessy Artistry party next Sunday. Perhaps earlier if I have time. Meanwhile, read this.

What you have seen is …

.. not always what you actually get. As you know, in the West, it potraited family reunion as a pretty much freaky event that could probably be so scary you’d rather dance around naked in public than to attend one.

Sure, I do get my own dosage of freaky family members like one that wears a ballerina costume or that one who wore glittered fishnet paired with candy pink pumps. But really, it doesn’t get any more weirder than that. Oh, lucky me.

Nevertheless, I’m still not a huge fan of family reunion. Just because it doesn’t scare me, doesn’t mean I like it.

But, it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would have been. A church wedding wouldn’t exactly qualify for a family reunion but it was similar. In fact, I saw relatives who was supposed to be my great aunt and great uncle of which I didn’t actually know of. All I had to do was to greet these distant relatives with the appropriate names. For example, I’m supposed to call my great aunt; Kam Poh, etc.

And that’s is basically it.

Really. I’m serious. I didn’t even get the usual of;

“When are you going to get married? Why are you so short?”

Or even the ever so famous; “Why are you so thin? You should eat more.”

Anyway, I took shots of the wedding; both at the church and then the wedding dinner. Here they are, not fantastically awesome though.

By the way, if you are ever wondering just how similar a church wedding is to those in the movies; let me just say it isn’t entirely the same. Of course, they have the march down the aisle and all. But it’s really a much longer process compared to the movies. There is worshipping involved, gospel reading and even the holy communion.

I hate to say it but ..

.. truthfully, she is a deaf and a dumb.

Forgive me for beginning my first post-hiatus entry in such a manner, but I simply can’t stand the attitude of front desk clerks these days.

Like, hello?! You are at the front desk, my dear. Either she was mysteriously placed there or she was lost.

Here’s the case:

“Excuse me. Um, excuse me.”

The front desk clerk didn’t even bothered to look up. She simply pretended that she was either deaf or dumb. After a few seconds looking rather lost while being stared by four other equally ignorant clerks, one finally had the courage to speak. Ah, thank goodness. Not.

She said, “Mau apa?”

I was like what-the-hell. I didn’t said it, of course. Unlike them, I had my manners.

“I’m in a rush and I need to get the slip.”

“Untuk apa?”

“I need to catch my flight home."

“Pukul berapa you kena sampai kat airport?”

“Pukul dua belas tengah hari."

I finally took the liberty to speak in Bahasa because she clearly doesn’t understand English. And even then, she still questioned me. Uh, come on. I’m not there for a scholarship interview; why on Earth would she wants to know what time my flight is. I said it was urgent, which means it is.

“You duduk dan tunggu dulu.”

I waited. Waited. Waited until the cows came home. I gave up waiting because I could see that she wasn’t going to do anything about the slip I asked from her. All she did was stare right through the flesh of my body. Okayy, freaky much. I left, without saying a single more word.

Have pity. I’m forced to be on a hiatus.

I’d be feeling less guilty if I post this blogpost now.

This blogger, Kah Mun Hong (Carmen) is now

officially

declaring

a month long

hiatus.

This is due to her looming SPM trials examination which is exactly 18 days away.

She’ll be back on

19th

September ‘09.

Take care, I’ll be back.

Some food sucks so much, they should never see daylight.

Gah, I am still horrified with how awful some food in Taiping tastes like. But I am just too frazzled to blog about it now. One thing for sure though, (and thanked God for it) the food wasn’t all that bad. In fact, it’s really awesome and I wouldn’t mind bracing myself for another 3 hours, grueling car ride to Taiping. Yes, it’s that damn good.

Here’s what to expect from next post:

Quarantined Schools due to A(H1N1).

It's the day after my 17th birthday. I'm actually in the midst of updating the pictures to my Facebook but I had a hunch am positive that I might not be able to blog about it today which is why I'm here.

Anyway, in case you didn't know;

SMK Seri Bintang Utara and SK Seri Bintang Utara has been quarantined due to the rising number of A(H1N1) cases in both school.

I'm not sure of the total number of students affected but it had been rumoured that 2 or up to 40 students were infected with A(H1N1). And then there's an alarming figure of 109 hostel students residing at Asmara Kompleks Seri Bintang were down with fever. It's a good thing they shut down the school for a week. SMK Seri Bintang Utara will be back on 7th August, while SK Seri Bintang Utara will be back on 10th August.

I think the ministry did the right thing though a bit slower than what I have expected. The sudden increase in the amount of cases in our school is most definitely caused by the first student who was infected with A(H1N1) who came to school, unaware that he/she was infected. When known, the school still had to cheek to inform the students that it was okay to come to school and that everything was under control.

As per the headmistress of the school, the A(H1N1) flu virus is not an air-borne disease and would somehow miraculously die after 24 hours. Well, the flu virus is considered air-borne but within a short distance. But the virus doesn't miraculously die after 24 hours. They can be recovered even after two days.

Up till now, we have not been told about the identities of the infected students. They should and maybe they shouldn't. They should become if we have came in contact with the infected person, we would most likely be ready for the attack and take necessary precautions. They shouldn't because when we do get back to school, we might discriminate the infected student. I won't, that I'm sure.

I still think that the ministry should have acted faster. But in times like these, technology is super awesome. I got to know about the closure through textes I received and calls I got.

So, to the everyone out there, please take care and avoid public places.

PS: If you are a student of SMK Seri Bintang Utara, I have some bad news.
We MIGHT HAVE TO REPLACE THE 5 DAY HOLIDAY WE GOT.

National Cheerleading Competition 2009.

DSCN9358

In short, it’s called Cheer ‘09. Hell, I’m not much of a cheerleader but I do love an event like Cheer. The energy, the screams, the hordes of supporter, the cheer routines and the fun part of cheering for your own school’s cheerleading team. It does makes the event more exciting to cheer for your school’s team (in my case, it’s Shirtliff from SMK Seri Bintang Utara) which might just win the championship again. But sadly, they didn’t. It’s obvious when they had apparently fell four times on Day 1 of the competition, according to Ruzanna. I missed it because I came late, got lost and wore the wrong shirt. Even when I asked the captain of the team, Jehan if she think that Shirtliff will make it to Top 15, she was like, “I’m not sure.”

DSCN9282

This was how unsure they are.

Oh, dang.

DSCN9309

But, nevertheless they still got first runner-up. Of which, I think it’s superb, considering the captain broke her neck a few days before the competition and her replacement learnt the routine in less than a day.

I know they didn’t expect to win. Neither did I. So, it did come as a surprise when they won (even though it’s second place after Blitzerzs from SMK Bandar Utama Damansara 4 ), and boy, was I elated when they won.

DSCN9322

The champions, Blitzerzs.

Another strong team, Dynamitez at fifth place.

This year Cheer Competition felt different, maybe because I wasn’t screaming my head off for Shirtliff. I wanted to, but you can’t actually do that in the open while updating The Star’s BRATs twitter feed for Cheer 2009. (By the way, if you have a Twitter account, please follow @starbrats.)

But, I’d rather run around getting pictures, asking a few questions, being a stand-upper; of which I must have sucked at because I kept bobbing my head from left to right, doing interviews and updating Twitter. It’s totally different than just being a supporter. Plus, you get to see the performance from where the judges were seated. A view as close as the judges.

Cheer 09 Niki

Here’s the picture I grabbed from Niki Cheong’s Facebook. These are some of the BRATs that came along to help on Day 2. This was the table where we worked at, located right in the center of the stadium. And is off limits if you don’t have either your BRATs tag or your BRATs T-shirt. I didn’t bring either on Day 1 and I wore the Shirtliff’s supporter shirt. So, I’m not allowed in there on Day 1 as per Niki Cheong.

Ah, that was quite a number of camwhore shots. Events like these provide a hell lot of camwhore photo opportunity which is why I loved them so much. Anyway, I did take some shots of the cheerleaders performing their routine but the pictures when blown up was very noisy. I need a DSLR, a Nikon one. D5000 or D90! Mark brought his and boy, were the pictures gorgeous.

OMGOMG, look at the picture. Niceeee.

In between cheerleading routines, the hosts usually have games like Cheer Idol, catwalking, dancing and etc. I managed to record a short video of Mrs. Prema dancing to the song Low by Flo-Rida but she performed a traditional Indian dance!

Puan Prema danced the traditional Indian dance with the song Low by Flo-rida. Woo hoo!

My oh my. This is one heck of a long post. It’s been forever since I last posted. I feel sated now. Not feeling guilty, man. But, this Cheer Competition is definitely one of the best ones even though Shirtliff  wasn’t the champion.
